Group Therapy

What is Group Therapy?

A group of people that come together with a Group leader who acts as the facilitator and provides an environment that is safe, supportive and challenging. Transactional analysis was originally practised as a group therapy as its emphasis has always been on understanding interactions.

What are some of the advantages of Group Therapy?

One of the major issues in life is relationship. Many people come into therapy as they have problems with one or more of their relationships, whether it is at work, with a partner or within a family.   A Group, where you feel safe enough to  speak is the ideal place to learn about, experience and experiment with being in relationships.

Groups also  a create social environment in which you can benefit from each other’s work, which may then enable you to gain insight or may trigger other issues to work on.
There is also a large financial advantage in Group therapy. The cost of the sessions will workout to an hourly rate which is a 1/3 to 1/4 of the cost of individual therapy.

Prior to joining a group you would normally have a few individual sessions to establish a good working relationship. If you would like to know more or ask any questions Ask Jules.
