We are all familiar with what it feels like to feel shame. We have all, at some point in our lives, been shamed by others or shamed ourselves. Shame can be so toxic because it is about who we are and how or what we think about who we are.

It is often ignored discounted in counselling and therapy - maybe as feeling shame is so uncomfortable.

It is a major contributor to distress and how we manage it personally and professionally has a big influence on the outcome of working in the different fields of healthcare.
